Can you smell it? Yes, this is the taste of Argentina. For eleven days, Le Renoir restaurant (Sofitel Montréal) will host chef Olivier Falchi from restaurant Le Sud (Sofitel Buenos Aires). He’s been invited to offer an alternative menu, full of argentinian flavors even though he’s French (member of Académie Culinaire de France and member of Toques Blanches Internationales)
Last wednesday, this smiling chef has already given a sample of his talent during the presentation cocktail at Le Carré doré. During this event he circulated through the happy few that were invited offering himself bouchées and tasty "verrines".
“I’m really happy to be in Montréal, it’s the first time for me. I don’t know if I’ll have time to visit a lot but I have friends who want to take me out to various restaurants”. He didn’t want to tell me the names…
While people were tasting Olivier’s Argentinian food standing (which was a whole problem when it came to cut the meat with one hand, the other being used holding the plate) a couple was executing a presentation of Tango. I can’t dance, I just move my arms and legs in various directions so I’m always impressed by dancers who master the technique.
If you want to give a try to this temporary Argentinian menu, here it is. You’ll have until November 13.
