Picture of the Day: Agence Apollo’s bathtub
Thursday Agence Apollo had its monthly networking event: les Jeudis d’Apollo. In addition to be a great way to meet new people and build your network, it’s a fun place where you can have a bath… or nearly.
Winter wont’ be a pain in the a.. anymore.
Wednesday October 26. Montreal.
Winter is getting closer everyday and some of us are desperate just thinking of the snow, the cold and all the “happy” consequences of this season. But fortunately there’s a solution to every problem, at least my grandma told me so.
“Petit guide pour survivre à l’hiver” is the name of this medicine. In a small funny book, Pascal Henrard (author) and François Turcotte (illustrator) have imagined solutions to make you feel better about that sad period of the year.
Absurd humor, puns, stupid games, even more stupid games, four-words crossword about winter, nonsense… 48 pages of this kind of craziness I personally like a lot.
I met Pascal Tuesday at the launch of this book. Actually two books were launched, the other one is another guide that will help people to survive their family. I asked him why he hated winter so much and he needed to write a guide to survive it. And you know what, his answer is rather paradoxical…
David: What do you think of winter?
Pascal: I love winter!
David: What do you like about it?
Pascal: It’s a pleasure to go outside, to ski, to skate, I love cold actually, even though I have a car I love it! You just need to have good tires after all.

David: What about the other guide, to survive family. Do you have to survive your family?
Pascal: Well, sometimes it can be hard. You don’t choose your family, but I’m talking here about the extended family, I think it’s ok with my wife and my kids (ironic smile appearing).
David: What is the best piece of advice to survive winter?
Pascal: Read the book! It’s the only way to survive winter.

Sugar Sammy: You’re gonna piss your pantalons
Tuesday morning comedian Sugar Sammy held a press conference to announce his upcoming show Sugar Sammy: You’re Gonna Rire – Le show franglais.
At the 9-4-10 restaurant Bell Center, we could see for the first time the posters that will be used in the promotion. They all play with words en Français… and in English.
The show will be half in English, half in French, well… to be more accurate, it will be, as the posters read “a show 50,5% in English 49,5% in French”.
The comedian wrote this show especially for Montréal “It’s gonna be a very special event for Montreal, I’m gonna talk about things that happened here, about some neighbours of the city, said Sugar Sammy”.
So all the jokes will be mixed in both languages. “I feel some jokes work better in English and others in French. Ce sera pendant mon anniversaire”.
Sugar Sammy also talked about his passion for Montréal. “I miss Montreal a lot when I’m travelling abroad. I love coming back home”.
I’m wondering if this bilingual show will attract more English speakers or French speakers. I just wish Sugar Sammy the venues won’t be 50% empty…

Zidara9: a Comic Book 100% from Québec available on iPad
On Saturday I went to the comic book shop Planète BD to attend the launch of Zidara9. Well, what is exactly that thing? A new Indian restaurant downtown ? Niet. A brand new perfect medicine for hangovers? You wish! A new religion movement based on the adoration of #9? Maybe…but still no. Zidara9 is a comic book 100% from Québec that is available on iPad and print.
This first edition consists in two Sci-Fi stories written by Rémi Paradis and Mathieu Bernier. Rémi developed the application for i-Pad/Pod/Phone and is currently working on the Android version.
To be completely honest I’m no specialist of Sci-Fi comic, but I really enjoyed those two stories. Funny and creative.
Rémi told me he’s looking for Comic Book Writers to join Zidara9. His goal is to create a collective movement and spread its art through the digital world (and also in the print version of the book). Good news: the stories are available in English too.
Is the future of Comic Books digital? I don’t really know but those two artists do…

The true reasons why President Sarkozy was attacked today
Today French television broadcast images showing Sarkozy being grabbed by his suit as he was shaking hands with a crowd in the city of Brax (France).
The French President nearly lost his balance but finally recoiled to escape the threatening hand.
One question raises: Why ? Why this man attacked the French President ?
I personally gathered the best experts to get the answer. Here are the three assumptions the experts gave me.
Hypothesis #1
The man was just curious about the fabric of Sarkorzy’s suit.
“Is it really cotton? No way! Come closer, I wanna feel it. Come Here, I love cotton suits. Here we go…”
Hypothesis #2
The guy is a huge fan of Arthur and the Invisibles and wanted to bring President Sarkozy back to the underworld kingdom he belongs to.
Hypothesis #3
All the operation is fake. The attack was just an attempt to break the World Guinness Record of the shortest wrestling match.
Hypothesis #4
Old rancor.
“Hi Nicky! Remember me in fourth grade? You stole my blue pencil motherf… The time for revenge has come !”
I personally have not idea, I just discovered Sarkozy was President of France…
